Green Goddess Friday Nights

SPA NIGHT

7:00-9:00PM

Take time to unwind and relax, bring your girlfriends and enjoy and evening of pampering, spa food, wine or herbal tea and restorative yoga.
 Bring with you – 2 pillows and 2 thick blankets and a yoga mat for the restorative yoga class (we have a few mats and pillows to lend out). Wear comfy clothing.Our Spa Specialists for the evening:

  • Magdalena (Holistic Skin Care Specialist and owner of Woman Divine) will be giving mini facials with certified organic and biodynamic skin care products
  • Carolyn (esthetician and owner of Mobile Beauty) will be giving mini manicures with ZOYA Nail Polish, which is free of toxic Toulene, Camphor, Formaldehyde and DBP.
  • Gail (reflexologist specialist) will be giving 10 minute mini reflexology treatments
  • Robyn (certified yoga teacher) will be leading a restorative yoga class for us at the end of the evening

Strength, Flexibility and Nutrition for Runners,
with Sarah Zahab and Donna Davis

This workshop series is designed to increase functional strength, flexibility and nutrition with the end goal of improving running fitness. Attend one or all in the series and walk away with running-specific exercises that will help target common imbalances and work to increase overall functionality. Workshops are 90 minutes in length; handouts will be given for all workshops.

CORE BEGINNER

60% of your power originates from your core. Every runner’s secret weapon is a strong core. Join certified Kinesiologist, Sarah Zahab, as she guides you through exercises designed to increase overall core strength and endurance. Identify potential weak areas in the core and work to create overall balance and strength. This workshop is designed specifically for runners however open to anyone interested in developing a stronger core. Walk away with a workout program and resources that will guide you through your specific training phases. $45.00

POSTURE &
UPPER BODY STRENGTH

Proper body alignment and posture is an important element in all fitness activities and is the building block for a strong foundation. Proper posture can help to improve performance, relieve tension, conserve energy and boost confidence. Learn how to identify poor posture and exercises that help to correct and perfect posture and alignment. Upper body exercises will be reviewed – ones that help to improve running posture and form. $45.00

YOGA FOR RUNNERS

Friday, Feb 26
7:00-8:30PM

Participation in sport often creates tight and imbalanced muscles which can lead to injury; based on Power Yoga, Yoga for Runners is designed to enhance endurance, strength and flexibility.

In this workshop we will:

  • discuss which postures help prevent common running injuries such as IT Band syndrome, hamstring pulls, knee injuries, and common hip and core imbalances
  • discuss which postures are appropriate for pre- and post- run, and how to modify any posture for overly tight muscles
  • do a 45 minute yoga class combining yoga postures and breath exercises – the aerobic flow of the practice increases lung capacity and builds internal and external heat maximizing strength, concentration and flexibility, helping to lengthen and re-balance tight muscles to prevent injury.

CORE INTERMEDIATE/
ADVANCED

Friday, Mar 26

A follow up to the beginner core series, this workshop will cover more progressive exercises to keep your core challenged and engaged. Learn stability ball exercises that wake up your core. Intermediate and advanced options will be covered for most exercises.
Prerequisite: Beginner core or experience in core training. Please bring a stability ball if you own one.
